Common questions

Do I need an account?

No. FitMotion has no accounts. Your data lives on your iPhone and Apple Watch, in Apple Health, and in your own iCloud.

How do I back up or move my data to a new iPhone?

Turn on backups in Profile › Backup & Restore (FitMotion also asks once). It then saves a daily backup to iCloud Drive › FitMotion and keeps up to a year of history. On the new iPhone, open Profile › Backup & Restore › Restore from Backup… and pick the latest file in iCloud Drive › FitMotion.

FitMotion isn't saving to Apple Health.

On your iPhone, open Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › FitMotion, and turn on the data types you want to share.

My Apple Watch workout didn't show up on my iPhone.

Open FitMotion on your iPhone with your Watch nearby. Workouts recorded on the Watch are kept until the iPhone confirms it received them, so they'll arrive once the two reconnect.

I deleted something by mistake.

Open Profile › Recently Deleted. Anything you deleted in the last 30 days can be restored from there.

How do I add a workout I forgot to record?

In History, tap + to log a past workout. For an outdoor workout, you can draw the route on the map.

Can I log a recipe?

Yes. When adding food, open Recipes to import one from a recipe link or build one from its ingredients.

Will workouts from Garmin, Strava or iFIT show up?

Yes, through Apple Health. Turn on sharing to Apple Health in that app (in iFIT: Settings › Connected Apps › Apple Health), then open FitMotion. Those workouts are added to your History automatically.

Trail or lift names are missing on a ski day.

Names come from OpenStreetMap and need a data connection the first time you ski an area. If a resort's trails aren't mapped there, FitMotion can't name them.
